Pathway to Employment

In 2020 we were funded by The Big Lottery to design a deliver a pilot programme, in 36 sessions over 18 weeks with a clear pathway to employment for 20 people with learning disabilities in Rotherham and support them to achieve their aspirations and one of their life goals to be in paid work, work that will play a pivotal role in defining an individual's quality of life and will be an integral part of a person's overall life experience.

Over the 18 weeks all that attended successfully went through Employability, Personal Development and Customer Service training delivered by a national training provider EdLounge (https://edlounge.com).

We have gone on to successfully, co-produce a unique pre-employment programme with six identified individuals that all have the same dreams and aspirations to be in work, but required different levels of support to overcome the individual barriers they faced to achieve their life goals.

All six of our inspirational people have completed supported work experience placements and four of the six are now in paid employment with external employers. One of which is Elite Energy Yorkshire Ltd, who have created opportunities in their office, warehouse and site environments.
